Construction junkie

We had to say our goodbyes on Thursday morning, for 12 days I felt a part of Valley View Alliance Church,  I was adopted into the team and they made me an honorary Canadian, how cool is that! I'm glad everyone got back in Newmarket at 3:00 in the morning and had a welcoming party cheering you home. I will miss everyone and now since your back you have facebook and email to keep in touch, Thank you again for the good times.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday I did construction on a operating room for the CCH clinic in town, framing and drywall, I will spare you the details. I was working with the medical director of CCH, very nice man.
I moved into Jeffs house on Friday for the next month and it's a really nice house. This house is in the outskirts of town, before 10:00pm we have music blasting, the Island music man, brought to you by the neighbor across the street. After 10:00 the noise drops off and at night when you go to sleep, it is pitch dark, no lights at all, the first nights' sleep was a little freaky.
I went to the chicken lady for the first time myself, it was good, 150 gouds( $3.75). This communication gap is hard to get over. I'm learning a little but not enough. Jeffs' friend came over last night, Dudley is Haitian and speaks very little English, so you can imagine what our communication looked like! We both had a Creole---English Dictionary, notebook and plenty of time, in 2 hours of almost no talking, we know each others name, we are both single, why I'm not married I think he has a brother up in port that I don't know for sure, I guess we communicated well enough to go to the beach at 9:00 today. So we went to the beach, about 10 miles away, I didn't bring any money so we couldn't get in, which I didn't know you had to pay for the beach, so no beach. I sat around today read the Bible, took a nap, and now getting ready to go out to eat with three of my friends. Good times.......          Scott
